Restructuring of a block in the old town centre. By opening a new street, the character of the area around the town hall is altered, creating this new block, crossed by a pedestrian walkway that leads down to the church. This block establishes continuity between the main square and the town centre; each elevation is designed to have a distinctive relationship with the surroundings. Because it is restricted to 3 and 4 storeys but has specific requirements for internal dimensions, a large single block was required.
