The construction of a new metro line is a major act in the overhaul of the territory it crosses. Each station is its unique expression, often at the origin of future urban changes.
The challenge of a metro station located 30m underground is to offer an obvious and pleasant route in the continuity of the journey.
The Agnettes
- The Agnettes station, located in a district strongly marked by a town planning of large groups, is the first element of restructuring of the district. It is a closed block which is based on structuring axes, composed of housing buildings on a base of shops.
- The station occupies the center of the island – its access from the square continues through a large nave of light that guides the traveler throughout his journey.
- This atmosphere of wood and light accompanies the transition between the underground world which represents the territorial scale of the metro line and the local scale of the Agnettes district.
The Grésillons
- In this old industrial fabric in full reconstruction, the Gare des Grésillons is the starting point of a new district under construction. It allows the junction between the existing RER line, in viaduct, and the future underground metro line.
- The vast passenger hall, widely open to the city, is sheltered by a large planted awning. The traveler is accompanied on his journeys by plant sequences and natural light.
- On the quays, a more intimate atmosphere of brick and light recalls the industrial past and the workers’ towns.
